Introduction

International students studying in Taiwan are permitted to engage in part-time employment; however, a valid work permit must be obtained prior to commencing work, in accordance with government regulations.

Eligibility

Before submitting your application, please ensure that you meet all of the following requirements:

  • Completed enrollment and course registration for the current semester
  • Maintain active student status for the current semester
  • Comply with the applicable work hour restrictions: during the academic semester, the maximum is 20 hours per week; during winter and summer recesses, the maximum is 40 hours per week.

⚠️ Please note that engaging in employment without a valid work permit may result in a fine ranging from NTD 30,000 to NTD 150,000.

Required Documents

Please prepare the following documents in PDF format:

  • Student ID card (bearing the official registration stamp) or Student ID card accompanied by an Enrollment Certificate
  • Passport (photo page) 
  • Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) — both front and reverse sides
  • Payment receipt for the application fee (NTD 100)

Common Reasons for Rejection

Applicants are advised to carefully verify the following prior to submission:

  • The requested permit period extends beyond the validity of the applicant’s passport or ARC
  • Failure to include the previous passport following renewal
  • Failure to include the previous passport following renewal
  • Inaccurate or invalid payment receipt number
